Free Design - EXPRESSION
I came across this release during one of my bandcamp journeys and instantly fell in love. I know absolutely nothing about this band/person (pretty sure it’s not the 60’s sunshine pop band from nyc, ha) other than they’re from Osaka, Japan and that this album popped up 2 weeks ago. This is a very, very, good hip hop instrumental album. Out of 17 tracks I only end up skipping 2 and that’s not bad at all! Give it a listen and pick it up if you’re able to. $5~ or so on bandcamp. Would I listen again: YESWould I recommend to a friend: YESWould I purchase this on vinyl: YES EXPRESSION by free design

I’m amazed that it’s taken a few mentions by gorozan-san to get me to listen to this groovin’ album. Clocking in around 30 minutes this is an album full of grooves and general good vibes. We’ve had some discussion here about them and related acts, so check those out as well. Unfortunately, they don’t have their album up on bandcamp but there is a full album stream on youtube! Check it out and let me know what you think.

Jardín de la Croix

Jardín de la Croix - 187 Steps to Cross the Universe

I stole this post from @Nash since I felt it needed to be addressed. This is a great instrumental rock // math rock // prog rock // whatever // release from Madrid that is free for you to download from bandcamp. From start to end these guys force you to pay attention and groove along. Take a listen and download it (and their other albums) for free. You can buy the CD from Noma Records if you’re into the physical thing.

Jardín de la Croix // Noma Records

From Last.fm:

Jardín de la Croix is a Spanish instrumental math rock band formed in 2007 in Madrid. The group finds itself at ease within its prominent and complex rhythmic structures and its layered harmonic guitars usually arranged in lengthy instrumental compositions. Although the group is regarded as Progressive Rock by their members, it has been dubbed Math Rock or Alternative Rock by some.
